Front-Burner Problems are the Lifeblood of Your Business

Reading Time: < 1 minute

All of us in life have plenty to work with, to think about, and plenty of problems to solve.

We are always prioritizing — often in an intuitive way. For example, something that might sound fascinating when we are bored might seem utterly irrelevant during a crisis.

As a business owner, your trick is to understand which problem(s) your clients/customers have that are truly “front burner” problems. (If you are not familiar with this expression, it refers to the food we are cooking right now, usually on a higher heat, that we often cook on the front burner of the stove.)

As we prioritize animals, there is always something bugging us, something that seems like the thing that will make the difference and make things better. It is essential that you understand what your core audience’s front-burner challenges are and (critically) how they think about them. (not you)

The front-burner issues your client has are the lifeblood — the very driving force — of a healthy business. As our urgency to solve a particular issue goes down a little, our tendency to take action goes down a lot. If your business is based on nice-to-haves, I have a feeling you are going to have trouble.

Do you have an idea of what your clients or customers’ front-burner issues are? (If you’re not sure, it might be time to do some research!)
